                              Oregano Tomatoes

    4      medium        tomatoes -- sliced
      1/4  cup           oil
    1 1/2  tablespoons   lemon juice
      1/2  teaspoon      salt
      1/2  teaspoon      dried whole oregano
      1/8  teaspoon      pepper
    1                    garlic clove -- minced
 
 Place tomatoes in a shallow dish. Combine remaining ingredients, stir 
 well, and pour over tomatoes.  Cover and chill several hours, stirring 
 once or twice.
